about the title idek i decided to go with german bc “eisenwald” is german and i typed “dispel” into ggl translate and it gave me that ok i don’t speak german ich kann nicht deutsch sprechen or w/e

Guild halls are never quiet, and Eisenwald is no exception. At least a quarter of the members are drunk (never mind that it’s barely noon), there’s five different shouting matches going on, and even without all of that the constant scurry of guild members leaving and returning means that peace and quiet is the stuff of fairy tales.

But Kageyama, used to the daily rabble, pays it no mind as he tucks himself into a fairly secluded corner, ready to begin his day’s work.

Iva and Jiki insist on betting on everything, from who can drink the most, to proving whether or not Hirato and Akari are doing it behind the scenes. But Jiki starts to think their most recent bet might not have been such a good idea after all… Perhaps Tsukitachi can change his mind.

“I’m going to kill myself.”

“Aw, c’mon—”

“I can’t believe I agreed to this.”

“You were the one who suggested it, though…”

“I feel stupid. I look stupid.”

“You look fine! Pretty, in fact.”

Jiki shot a glare across the table at Tsukitachi. “I’m a twenty-year-old man in a dress wearing a wig and make-up. I’m not pretty.”

it’s No Smoking Day today here in the UK and since Jules is the only (regular) smoker of my OCs I started wondering how he’d take having to quit…(probably not well). so this came about.

~~(Hiro probably told him to quit because it’s killing his tastebuds which is terrible for a chef, plus it smells fuckin gross, stop that you asshole)~~

“Please.”

“No.”

“Please.”

“No.”

“Pleeeeeease.”

“Nnnnnnno.”

“Why not!?”

“Because! We agreed that you’re giving up smoking. You agreed.”

“Just one.”

“No, just none.”

“Hirooooooooooo…” Julian whined, leaning across the table and stretching his arms out as far as they could reach. He made his eyes go as wide as he could, and blinked a few times in quick succession.

“Don’t think fluttering your eyelashes will work on me, asshole. I’m not my brother.”

Hirosuki got up from the table and stalked away coldly. Julian collapsed against the tabletop.

“What’s up with him?” Amethyst asked a week later.

She and Hirosuki were standing in the hallway outside the kitchen. Or, more accurately, they were eavesdropping in the hallway outside the kitchen.

Before Hirosuki could reply, a loud metallic clang echoed from behind the closed door, followed by a barrage of what were presumably curse words in a language neither he nor Amethyst understood.

“He’s tryin’ to give up the cigs,” he responded simply, once the noise had died down.

Amethyst nodded her sympathies.

Another week passed, and soon every pen in the house had had its end chewed, not to mention Julian’s fingernails were bitten down to the quick.

The household hadn’t had a decent meal since he’d started his attempt at quitting.

The week after, Hirosuki caught Julian about to light a forbidden cigarette in the garden.

“Don’t you fucking dare,” he hissed, snapping the offending cancer stick in half and snatching the lighter from the younger male.

“But I’m going crazy, Hiro……”

“Okay then, how about this? Every time you feel like you need a smoke, you can come to me, and, uh…” Hirosuki paused and cleared his throat. A light blush began to creep up his pale neck. “You can have one of these instead.”

He leaned down the few inches between them and pecked a kiss against Julian’s lips.

Julian seemed to take a few seconds to process the action, and then a mischievous glint sparkled in his blue eyes, as he reached up to loop his arms around Hirosuki’s neck. “You do realise this means I’m going to want to smoke even more from now on, right?”

Hirosuki sighed, but didn’t shake him off. “I thought you might say that,” he replied.
